Bastrop Jam 2014 to feature Eric Johnson, Rosie Flores and Erik Hokkanen

Bastrop Jam, May 3, 2014 

The Bastrop Jam is an annual event benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bastrop County. The 2014 event, presented by St. David’s Bastrop Emergency Center, is set for May 3, 2014.

When? - May 3, 2014, from 7-10 p.m
Where? - On the patio behind Lakeside Professional building, 3101 Hwy, 71 East, Bastrop, Texas.

Bastrop Jam 2014 will feature Grammy-winning guitar legend Eric Johnson and his band, plus the ‘rockabilly filly’ Rosie Flores and Texas swing king Erik Hokkanen along with an all-star ensemble of musicians!

What's More?

Two guitars previously owned and autographed by Eric Johnson will be auctioned off at the event, along with an acoustic guitar signed by Willie Nelson. The winners will get their picture taken with Eric. SiriusXM Satellite Radio personality Dallas Wayne will be the host for the evening.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Bastrop County

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Bastrop County is a locally governed, nonprofit youth development agency working to empower all the youth of Bastrop County to become caring, productive, responsible citizens. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Bastrop County began in Bastrop in 1996 and launched an after-school program for the Smithville school district in 2011.

To date, the Bastrop and Smithville locations combined serve an average of 170 children per day, keeping them safe in a productive, supervised environment with a curriculum focused on growth and character development.

This summer, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bastrop County will introduce a new program in the Elgin school district, adding to the successful programs already in place in Bastrop and Smithville.

Experience Hendrix 2014 Tour (March 11 to April 3, 2014)

The Experience Hendrix 2014 Tour will feature Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne/Black Label Society), Buddy Guy, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Dweezil Zappa, Los Lobos’ stalwarts Cesar Rosas and David Hidalgo, Eric Gales, Doyle Bramhall II, Eric Johnson, Bootsy Collins, Mato Nanji (Indigenous), and Ana Popovic. The rhythm section includes bassist Billy Cox, the only player, apart from Jimi Hendrix himself, who was part of both the Band of Gypsys and the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Chris Layton, the drummer who, along with the late Stevie Ray Vaughan, was a founder of Double Trouble.

The Experience Hendrix Tour, which pays tribute to the iconic work of the legendary Jimi Hendrix had its inception in 1995. Presented by BandFuse: Rock Legends, the 2014 tour will start in Dallas on March 11 and conclude on April 3 in Detroit with the possibility of more dates being added in the future.

“Jimi often spoke of his concept of ‘Electric Church’ and using music to connect directly with people. Every day we see how Jimi’s musical legacy continues to transcend generational and cultural boundaries. It’s our continuing mission to do all we can to celebrate what he’s given us and to keep his music in the forefront. The Experience Hendrix tour does that with brilliant musicians who love Jimi, electrifying the stage with his music and sound,” Janie Hendrix, President of Experience Hendrix LLC said in a press release.
